Scroll Saw Wood Patterns has grown into a full-time job for me and causes quite a lot of work. I am working hard and it is great fun to do it. Of course all the infrastructure involved has its costs, and I have got to live on something, but at the same time I believe in freebies. Therefore I decided to keep providing this Scroll Saw Patterns page free and give you the freedom to decide if and how much it is worth to you. |

DIRECTIONS: Either copy & print this page from the computer or right click on your mouse to save the pattern (save image as) onto your desktop. Size the image to your preference and print out . Glue the image onto a piece of soft pine with Elmer's rubber cement or glue stick. Now using your scroll saw cut out the image. Peel of the paper and sand smooth. NEXT: Paint the image with any acrylic craft paint of your choice. This will be the base coat. After the base coat has dried - proceed to do the following step: Transfer the details of the image (above) using transfer paper. You can also copy the detailed image from your printer - then rub the back of the copy with your pencil to transfer the image onto the cut-out image on the wood. Use a contrasting acrylic paint to paint the details. You may use a fine-line Sharpie marker for the details. For the eyes try this neat little trick: Dip the end of a nice little tounded tip paint brush into a pool of desired acrlic paint. Test dab the end of the brush onto a scrap piece of paper. This should make a nice little round eyeball for the eyes. If making a white eyeball and then a black pupil on top, let the white completely dry. Next do the same motion for the tiny black eye pupil. You can also use the Sharpie for marking the pupil in the middle of the white eyeball. |
